How to be happy? 10 ways that science suggests.

Feeling happy is very important in our life as it is extremely vital to our own goals in life and can help us achieve many other cherished personal ambitions and goals. Also, by being happy, we have the potential to change many other lives just by being ourselves.

In tough times like these, it becomes very important to be happy an spread happiness all around you.

Following are some ways that science suggests which will help you to be happy.


1. Meditate

Meditation is often acclaimed as an important habit for improving focus, clarity, and attention span, as well as helps you to keep calm. Meditation not only clears your mind but also calms you down, it's been often proven to be the single most effective way to live a happier life.


2. Practise Gratitude

Gratitude is the act of being thankful for good things in your life. There are many ways to practice gratitude,


3. Helping Others

Doing a kind thing produces the most reliable momentary increase in our well-being . Sometimes spending money on other people makes us happier than buying stuff for ourselves. Helping others does not always mean spending money on them. You can also contribute by spending your time by volunteering.


4. Practise Smiling

Smiling is one way to reduce the stress caused by an unsettling situation . Smiling makes us feel good, increases our attention flexibility and our ability to think on a whole.

5. Spend Time with Family

Social time is highly valuable and helps us in improving our mood, even for introverts. Nurturing relationships and proactively schedule time with family and friends adds to our happiness.

6. Move Closer to Work

Our commute to work has a surprisingly powerful impact on our mood. The fact that we commute twice a day at least five days a week has a surprisingly bad effect on our behaviour and makes us less and less happy.

7. Go Outside

Spending time in the fresh air adds to your happiness. Good weather boosts positive mood , broadens thinking capabilities and improves working memory. (PS. Do this only after Corona Virus gets over :P)


8. Sleep More

Sleep affects our reactions to negative emotions and helps us to be more positive. Sleep helps our body recover from the day and repair itself and it helps us focus and be more productive. Also, having a good sleep does make people more positive and makes them happier.

9. Plan a Trip

As opposed to actually taking a holiday, simply planning a vacation or break from work can improve our happiness. If you can't take the time for a vacation right now, or even a night out with friends, put something on the calendar-even if it's a month or a year down the road. Then, whenever you need a boost of happiness, remind yourself about it.

10. Exercise

Exercise helps you relax and increases your brain power. It also improves your body image, even if you don't lose any weight. People who do exercise daily tend to be more happy because they start to feel better about their bodies.
